Summer is here and all the warm days and nights are ideal to:
– Pack something yummy and
– Go somewhere green 🙂
Here are some ideas to help you find the ideal picnic spots in Vienna to enjoy your break, your snack and mostly: the beauty of our city.
Burggarten is not really an insider tip, but way too nice to keep it from the list :-).
Volksgarten is located in the first district, central, but still quiet.
Oberlaa is a hilly recreation area in the south of Vienna. There are numerous stretches of water there.
Enjoy the unique view of Vienna in the 19th district. You can also visit the Sisi chapel.
You do not have time to leave the city, but still wish to feel like you were in the country side? Go to Cobenzl. This recreation area is large enough to spend an entire day there. To be on the safe side, you can order a picnic basket at Vill Aurora at Wilhelminenberg.
A beautiful place, large enough for long walks and a day-excursion :-). Located in the west of Vienna, it offers children’s playgrounds, large meadows and great views of Vienna and local animals such as deer and if you are lucky you may also get to see boar.
Feel free to ask our team at the reception for directions!
Enjoy your picnic in Vienna!
