Mother’s day – Let’s celebrate the 8th of May 2016

Nobody knows exactly where the Mother’s day comes from. Its origins go back to ancient Greece. The American women’s rights movement, politics and the flowers industry are involved as well. But to be really honest we neither care about the origins nor about the fact that there is a commercial purpose. We rather consider it important that it’s a day for indulging Mom and making a nice present. Quality time is the best present ever We think that flowers and cakes are great gifts to present but we prefer giving quality time. Strolling around Vienna, shopping, experiencing coffeehouse culture, enjoying a glass of wine at a typical Viennese Heurigen, discovering the city with its beautiful buildings, parks and museums – maybe in a horse-drawn carriage – and finishing the day with a sundowner at the the lovely hotel garden. Our Time with Mummy package Sounds great? That’s why we offer a tempting package to you that will surely get every Mummy excited. Time with Mummy is a perfect present as it is valid before and after Mother’s Day. It’s available from the 24th of April until the 30th of June 2016. We invite you and your Mom to spend 3 […]

A new restaurant in town: meals on wheels – in a different way

Culinary Vienna is colorful, trendy and international as well as cozy and traditional but it’s never boring. One could even go so far as to say that Vienna is the most important European city for gourmets. Besides well-established restaurants, cafés and taverns there are new creative locations that make Vienna more colorful and attractive. It goes without saying that one of these new culinary hotspots is the rollercoaster restaurant, situated at the famous Viennese Prater. Lightshows, loops and robots In no time from zero to approximately 30 km/h pots, cups or bottles are catapulted through loops before they glide to the tables and reach the guest.  There is no bartender made of flesh and blood to mix the cocktails. It’s a robot or better huge robot arms that shake the drinks and move to the beat of the music accompanied by crazy lightshows. The new rollercoaster restaurant opened his doors on the 1st of April and is situated opposite the big wheel of Viennese Prater. At the restaurant you can enjoy delicious burgers, pasta or Austrian “Schnitzel” and order via touchscreen. If you fancy fresh, uncomplicated and tasty food and a lot of action when going out for dinner you will […]

Bee humming in Vienna’s green living room: The gardening season is about to start

Staying in the middle of the vibrant city and in the nature at the same time? It’s springtime! Flowers are growing und we cannot wait to open our hotel garden in April. We take a deep breath, lean back, relax and enjoy the nature in our green oasis. Before the hotel door vibrant urban life is pulsing, but in the lush garden crickets are chirping, bees are humming and birds are singing. Do you fancy having breakfast in the garden, enjoying a coffee and a cake in the afternoon sun or relaxing with a sundowner under shady trees? And in between we discover the “green” Vienna. Maybe when strolling around the parks and gardens of the town and the Prater, the most famous area for recreation of Vienna’s people? Or what about visiting the best courtyards of the town? Green living room Back at the hotel’s garden a delicious glass of wine is already waiting for the stroller. We care about our environment and it goes without saying that we place value on the fact that our culinary delicacies are fresh, local and organic.
