Muse – rock music at its best and a 360 degree view

The portfolio of the British rock band Muse is one of a kind – the songs are sad, full of power and rage and often rebellious. Singer and songwriter Matthew Bellamy is not only known for his extremely mutable voice – reaching up to 3.7 octaves – but also for his song texts which are about apocalypse, anxiety about the future and totalitarian regimes.  Music experts love Muse for their outstanding live performances; especially the song Black Holes and Revelations – one of the most famous ones – touches fans all over the world. Brilliant concert at Wiener Stadthalle On the 9th of May Muse is going to give a concert at Wiener Stadthalle. The DRONES world tour is more than innovative and sets new standards when it comes to stage presence. The three musicians with Bellamy as the front man present themselves on a 360 degree stage that allows a never seen before band-fan interaction. Social criticism in its most beautiful form The story of a drone pilot runs like a common thread through the show. The pilot challenges his job and changes his thoughts and behavior. He gives up, brutalizes, feels guilt and despair and finally revolts. As […]

Mother’s day – Let’s celebrate the 8th of May 2016

Nobody knows exactly where the Mother’s day comes from. Its origins go back to ancient Greece. The American women’s rights movement, politics and the flowers industry are involved as well. But to be really honest we neither care about the origins nor about the fact that there is a commercial purpose. We rather consider it important that it’s a day for indulging Mom and making a nice present. Quality time is the best present ever We think that flowers and cakes are great gifts to present but we prefer giving quality time. Strolling around Vienna, shopping, experiencing coffeehouse culture, enjoying a glass of wine at a typical Viennese Heurigen, discovering the city with its beautiful buildings, parks and museums – maybe in a horse-drawn carriage – and finishing the day with a sundowner at the the lovely hotel garden. Our Time with Mummy package Sounds great? That’s why we offer a tempting package to you that will surely get every Mummy excited. Time with Mummy is a perfect present as it is valid before and after Mother’s Day. It’s available from the 24th of April until the 30th of June 2016. We invite you and your Mom to spend 3 […]

A new restaurant in town: meals on wheels – in a different way

Culinary Vienna is colorful, trendy and international as well as cozy and traditional but it’s never boring. One could even go so far as to say that Vienna is the most important European city for gourmets. Besides well-established restaurants, cafés and taverns there are new creative locations that make Vienna more colorful and attractive. It goes without saying that one of these new culinary hotspots is the rollercoaster restaurant, situated at the famous Viennese Prater. Lightshows, loops and robots In no time from zero to approximately 30 km/h pots, cups or bottles are catapulted through loops before they glide to the tables and reach the guest.  There is no bartender made of flesh and blood to mix the cocktails. It’s a robot or better huge robot arms that shake the drinks and move to the beat of the music accompanied by crazy lightshows. The new rollercoaster restaurant opened his doors on the 1st of April and is situated opposite the big wheel of Viennese Prater. At the restaurant you can enjoy delicious burgers, pasta or Austrian “Schnitzel” and order via touchscreen. If you fancy fresh, uncomplicated and tasty food and a lot of action when going out for dinner you will […]

Viennese nightlife: somewhat lively, somewhat cool but always with the famous “Schmäh“

When staying in Vienna you should definitely enjoy a cooled wine during blue hour in one of the popular local wine taverns called “Heuriger” and later on there should be some time for having a beer at a typical “Beisl”. But: What about the rest of the night? During sunset at the latest you should start thinking about your nightlife – if not you will regret it bitterly. Nightlife under the subway or in an edgy club – Everything is only a short hop away from the hotel Vienna is an exciting city for night crawlers – for the elegant ones, for people who love the alternative lifestyle, for intellectuals, for the cool ones – actually for everybody. Boutiquehotel Stadthalle Wien is the perfect spot to start from when you’re planning to spend the night at Vienna’s famous edgy clubs, shabby-genteel pubs or fancy discos and lounges. The Gürtel pubs and clubs in the arches under the elevated subway, the 7th district with its alternative art scene, the 6th district with the famous Mariahilfer Street as well as the 1st district with the elegant pubs and clubs are only a stone’s throw away from the hotel. You can either walk […]
