Out tips for the pre-christmas season in Vienna

As soon as summer is over and the grey, fogy autumn begins, we are all looking forward to the pre-christmas season ahead. When all the buildings are illuminated in a gorgeous way, the streets are decorated and you can smell "Glühwein" and roasted almonds in the whole city; when it's bitterly cold outside and (hopefully) there is a thin snow cover on the streets of Vienna, then it is the best time of the year here. That's why  we want to give you some tips how you can spend the most beautiful time here in pre-christmas season. The most beautiful christmas markets in Vienna At "Winter im Museumsquartier" you can either try the delicious culinary offers in the so called "Eispavillons", which are designed from the austrian artist Gerry Ammann, you can admire the fancy light installations or enjoy the pre-christmas season with live-concerts or DJ-"winter-sounds". The open day of hotels 2017

The 23rd of June is the day when Austria’s hotels open their doors for teenagers and their parents, so that they can get the possibility to take a look behind the scenes of the hotel business. The ÖHV (Österreichische Hoteliervereinigung) has started the biggest job market initiative in the tourism sector and the open day of hotels is its highlight. VEGANMANIA – the vegan festival in Vienna

Since 1998, the Vegan Society Austria organises the summer festival “VEGANMANIA” every year. This year the festival celebrates its 20th anniversary. Naturally, this calls for a celebration! VEGANMANIA goes Indoors Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, VEGANMANIA arranges an Indoor Summer Festival for the first time. From 24th – 26th February the festival takes place in Vienna’s town hall, the “Stadthalle Wien”. It addresses everyone who is interested in or wants to know more about the vegan lifestyle. Various associations inform about health, environmental protection, animal protection and nutrition. Lots of stands offer a wide variety of vegan delights that shows the versatility of the vegan cuisine. From fast food to healthy crudités – there is something for every taste! Besides the culinary offerings, new fair and ecological products are introduced and fair and ecological produced cosmetics, fashion, shoes and accessories can be purchased. Go for a career in the hotel industry

Coming soon – From September 2016 there will be a brand-new job for apprentices: hotel trader (Hotelkaufmann / Hotelkauffrau). Concerning the future development of the hotel sector the apprenticeship offers exciting and innovative content. For instance it is not possible anymore to keep social media out of sight. Therefore it will be an important part of the new training. Further specializations are revenue-and quality management as well as the transfer of know-how when it comes to reservation. Comprehensively the focus is always on a strong service thinking. The new apprenticeship is for all of those who don’t need any gastronomic training input and who would like to concentrate mainly on the commercial area of a hotel like reception and back-office.
