The famous Viennese wine-growers from Neustift am Walde will offer their wine & food during the Kirtag. They host this event annually and offer a great program for both residents of Vienna and tourists. The Neustifter Kirtag takes place from August 21st to August 24th in Neustift am Walde in the outskirts of Vienna. The Kirtag in the 19th district of Vienna is an event for everyone. Lots of stands offer an amazing flair and the Heurigen contribute to that atmosphere with their great wine and delicious dishes.
A long-lasting tradition
The origin of the Neustifter Kirtag lies in the 18th century during the reign of empress Maria Theresia. The wine-growers from Neustift had to fight with their crops and were asking the empress for a tax-exemption. Equipped with a thanksgiving-crown the wine growers went to see the empress Maria Theresia. The empress left the crown to the wine-growers and agreed to the proposal under one condition: The wine-growers of Neustift have to host a wine gathering, the Neustifter Kirtag, on an annual basis. Since then, the Neustifter Kirtag became an important tradition.

The Heuriger Weingut Wolff, Fuhrgassl-Huber and Zeiler are popular even beyond Vienna’s boarders. They are known for their great wine, nice venues and delicious food. Easily reachable from the central Boutiquehotel Stadthalle
The Neustifter Kirtag can be easily reached from our central hotel in Vienna. Just get on the metro-line U6 towards Floridsdorf at Westbahnhof and get out of the metro at Nußdorfer Straße. From there get on the Bus 35A towards Salmannsdorf and leave the bus at Neustift am Walde. It will take you around 30 minutes to commute from our green hotel in Vienna to Neustift. If you arrive in Vienna by car, it will take you 20 minutes to reach the Neustifter Kirtag from our central hotel in Vienna. Parking is free in Neustift, but bear in mind that it may take time and patience till you’ll find a parking spot during the Kirtag.
