The Viennale – film festival 2011

From October 20th to November 2nd the annual Viennale will take place. This international film festival is an absolute must in Vienna’s event scene.

Several Austrian and international premieres are going to be shown: documentaries, feature films, special programmes, retrospectives, biographies and tributes in lots of small and cosy cinemas in the city centre.

More than 350 films are part of the Viennale film festival each year and it has come to be an internationally valued festival with lots of international guest.

Pre Sale will start on October 15th, the complete programme will be available as of October 11th.

Here is a little pre information about some of the films that are going to be part of this year’s Viennale:

Tahrir, Liberation Square” by Stefano Savona, “Le Havre” by Aki Kaurismäki, “Against all odds – A tribute to Harry Belafonte”, “Biography Chantal Akerman”.

You can get your tickets there:

Mariahilfer Straße/corner of Museumsquartier daily 10 am to 8 pm, at the pre-sale box offices at Schottentor Passage 1., Schottentor/Universität, daily 10am–8pm and at Gartenbaukino 1., Parkring 12, 15.–19. October, 10am–8pm. On top there will be two additional fast-lane-box offices on October 15th and 16th for the purchase of up to ten tickets: Gartenbaukino 1., Parkring 12, 15./16. of October, 10am–8pm and Künstlerhauskino 1., Akademiestraße 13, 15./16. of October, 10am–8pm (cash only)
