The BioWerkstatt: regional & biological products in Vienna
The BioWerkstatt in the first district in Vienna offers biological and regional products in their bio-grocery store. The bio-grocery store has a lot of products to offer and offers a daily vegan lunch from 11:30 to 14:00. Our guests in our central hotel in Vienna should definitely try the delicious vegan lunch, as the Biowerkstatt is located in the city center of Vienna, very close to many touristical attractions.
Bio is booming in Vienna
After having presented Lunzers Maß-Greißlerei in the second district of Vienna, we now want to introduce another bio-grocery store in Vienna to our guests in the Boutiquehotel Stadthalle. The BioWerkstatt was founded by the health expert Michaela Russmann and Sandra Kirch.
Bio products on the shelves
On an area of 110m2 the Russmann and Kirch are offering bio products (majority of Austrian origin). Next to the daily vegan menu the BioWerkstatt offers different products. Many renowned bioproducers, such as Zotter or Sottentor, fill the shelves of the BioWerkstatt, but also products of small farmers are offered in the grocery store.
The daily vegan menu
Next to selling the products from the shelves, the two founders also offer a daily vegan menu from 11:30 to 14:00 in the GenussBar/BioBistro. These daily menus are simply delicious. Many guests also order fresh bred and freshly prepared smoothies. If you want to take away your lunch, you can also get one of the sustainable take-away dishes and bring your vegan menu home. However, we highly recommend to enjoy your vegan dish in the BioWerkstatt in order to soak up the amazing atmosphere there. The daily menu, which for example consists of a potato leek cream soup and chili sin carne, costs 8 €.
The BioWerktstatt is also enganged in the arena of food sharing
People are not only coming to the BioWerkstatt in order to buy groceries. In cooperation with foodsharing.at the BioWerkstatt also saves many groceries from the bin. This makes especially sense when one is going on vacation and still has a lot of groceries in his fridge. Instead of throwing them away, you can bring them to BioWerkstatt. The BioWerkstatt then distributes the food to people in need or online through the platform foodsharing.at.
