The 11th Africa Festival in Vienna
This year the Africa Days take place in Vienna for the 11th time. From July 31st till August 16th the danube island in Vienna will be converted into a festival venue of variety. Culinary and artistic performances inspire the guests. Numerous musicians from the black continent will perform live on the danube island. Numerous stands will serve traditional African delicacies. Traditionally the Africa Days on the danube island in Vienna have a lot to offer. The music performances are especially popular. For example, Dr. Sley will perform his sensible Reggae Songs with lyrics against war and corruption on August 2nd. Furthermore, the energetic dance group “African Royal Ballet Djiby Kouyate” will dance live on stage in order to celebrate the African joy of living. There are music performances every day. The African Bazar – full of variety
The Africa Days will be hosted on an area of more than 40.000 square meters. The African Bazar plays an important role during this festival. Artists and exhibitors offer their products for sale on the bazar. You can get lots of products ranging from musical instruments to African accessories. Restaurant owners serve various African delicacies on the African Bazar as well. Next to Couscous or plantain inspired dishes, which have already inspired the European cuisine, less known delicacies, such as Akaya, Suyu or Dundun, will be served. You can enjoy these dishes in the spacious beer garden and also enjoy African wine there.
