History of the bicycle

2013 is the year of the bicycle!

 

In 2013 there are 2 important exhibitions to visit:
the exhibition “Motor bin ich selbst”, in the Vienna City Library, exposes materials from the collections of the history of cycling in Vienna. It takes place from the 7th of June to the 31st of October 2013.

The second exhibition “Tour du Monde”, in Mak, takes place from the 14th of June to 6th of October 2013. The Mak dedicates the exhibition to the history of the bicycle with the collection of Viennese architect Michael Embacher that includes legendary mass-produced models and creations from children’s bikes to athletic and leisure bikes, cargo bikes, and folding models.
Entry is free for children and adolescents up to 19 years, adults pay € 7.90, free Admission on Tuesdays 6–10 p.m.
There are also discounts for all visitors arriving by bicycle, so take advantage of the beautiful weather and visit an interesting exhibition on one of the most popular means of transportation for decades.
