Erste Bank Open 2017

Look out, sport fans! THE tennis event of the year is just around the corner: from the 21st to the 29th of October, the Erste Bank Open will take place in the Wiener Stadthalle. At the eight-day tournament, 54 high-quality players will compete in 36 matches. We will reveal everything you have to know about this year’s sports highlight in the following:

Who will participate?

At this year’s Erste Bank Open high-carat tennis stars of various nations and age classes with the most different playing styles will compete against each other. Whether young up-and-coming talents like Dominic Thiem, Alexander Zverev and Karen Khachanov or experienced professionals like Milos Raonic, Sam Querrey and David Ferrer – numerous exciting matches will be waiting for you at this tournament! With three top 10 stars and nine players of the top 20 world rang list, the Erste Bank Open indeed has a top-class cast. Especially the two youngsters Thiem and Zverev are expected to make a great career and to have a determining influence on the future events of the ATP World Tours – the experts agree on that.

 
 
The Programme

On the first weekend of the 21st and 22nd of October, the qualifications for the major competition take place, which every enthusiastic spectator can watch for free. On Monday, the first 1.000 kids including one attendant can visit the Stadthalle for free to witness the NextGen Day. And on Tuesday, Dominic Thiems will put his ability to the test for the first time at the Bank Open and of course looks forward to welcoming numerous supporters. Thiems intends to provide his Viennese fans with a suspenseful match. On the last weekend from the 27th to the 29th of October, it will get really exciting as on Friday, the quarter-finalists will encounter each other and the semifinal is scheduled for Saturday. But Sunday will be the final day: after a proper morning pint, every sports fan can share the thrill and cheer for their favourite at the deciding last match!

By the way, the Wiener Stadthalle is located less than five minutes of walking away from our comfortable Boutiquehotel. So we are looking forward to welcoming numerous enthusiastic sport fans in our house in October!
