ECI in Vienna – 4th European Congress of Immunology

The 4th European congress of immunology (ECI) takes place from 6th-9th September 2015 at the spacious Austria Center in Vienna. At this year’s congress important and interesting topics are going to be discussed. Among other topics it is about immunology, medicine, health, allergies and adaptive immunity.

The ECI takes place every three years at different locations. This time the venue is in the beautiful Vienna. It is expected that more than 6,000 visitors will visit this year’s ECI to listen to the informative and scientific talks, participate in inspiring discussions and gain new insights.

The most important congress speakers

The list of congress speakers contains many famous and top-class personalities from medicine and immunology. We will briefly present you some of them:

Winfried F. Pickl, MD is a temporary lecturer, certified immunologist and furthermore the elected president of the Austrian Society for Allergology and Immunology. As Head of the cellular immunology and immune haematology division of the Medical University of Vienna, he has extensive and field-tested knowledge plus decade-long experience. His talks are one of the most interesting and should not be missed.

Barbara Bohle, PhD is a temporary lecturer at the centre for physiology and pathophysiology at the Medical University of Vienna. Currently, she is dealing with analyzing the immune system regarding induction and maintenance and developing a concept for an efficient and safe allergen-specific immune therapy.

Prof. Dr. Rudolf Valenta was awarded the famous Paul-Ehrlich Award. He won the award for his exceptional research in the field of allergy and immunology. Together with his experienced team, he enabled to development a recombinant allergy vaccine. He will also share his knowledge and experience at the ECI in Vienna with the visitors.

The Austria Center Vienna – where this year’s ECI takes place – is easy to reach from our hotel by metro within half an hour. Starting at the Hackengasse you turn left to the Märzstraße and walk along the street until you turn right to the Schweglerstraße. There is the metro station Schweglerstraße. Take the metro U3 in direction of Simmering till the station Stephansplatz. There you change to metro U1 in direction of Leopoldau. Get off at Kaisermühle-VIC, exit the metro station at Schüttaustraße and follow the signig to the Austria Center Vienna.
