Bike holiday in the green city of Vienna

Kategorie: General,

by Elena Schöber

Spring is coming, temperatures are rising and this also has a positive impact on our mood! Vienna during spring is magic and opens up new opportunities for sightseeing to the guests of our central hotel in Vienna. We urge you to discover Vienna by bicycle, as this opens up new perspectives on the city and also shows the historic as well as modern Vienna from a very special perspective.

Bike holiday in the central hotel in Vienna

Vienna offers great bike lanes, which are partly separated from the streets, which not only make it easy for Vienna’s residents to move in an environmentally friendly manner, but also gives the guests in our zero-energy-balance hotel in Vienna great possibilities to discover the beautiful capital of Austria. We recommend starting your sightseeing session by bike on the Ring, which circles around the inner city of Vienna. Stop at the most important sights, such as the Heldenplatz, the parliament, the Schwarzenbergplatz or the Town Hall / Burgtheater and enjoy the great impressions this sights will give you. Furthermore, we suggest riding inside the first district in order to stop by St. Stephan’s Cathedral, do shopping or enjoy a coffee in the pedestrian area. You can also check out the official bike map of the inner district.

A green island on the river Danube

Not far from the city center, the danube island is waiting for bike riders. The danube island is 21 km long and deemed a recreational area in the middle of the city of Vienna. The island was artificially constructed in the 70s and 80s of the past century. The central part of the island is constructed like a park, while the northern and southern part of the island are very green and left to the nature. Enjoy a coffee in one of the numerous cafes or stop by the Old Danube to take a swim in summer or rent a paddleboat.

By bike to Schönbrunn Castle

The Schönbrunn Castle is one of the main attractions in Vienna and a sight you must see. Luckily, you can easily reach it by bike from our central hotel in Vienna. Just park your bike next to the castle and enjoy the beauty of the building and the Gloriette!
