Beach Volleyball World Championship 2017

Sport fans, Heads up! An event is lying ahead that you do not want to miss! The World Championship of Beach Volleyball is just around the corner. This year, Vienna could bring this mega event home and will turn into the volleyball metropolis from July the 28th to August the 6th. Within ten days, 48 of the world’s best teams will be competing against each other in 208 matches and they will be fighting relentlessly for the title.

20th World Cup Anniversary

2017 is even a very special year for the famous summer sports: the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championship will witness its 20th anniversary. Without doubt – this must be celebrated appropriately! The organizer Hannes Jagerhofer promises the most spectacular and exciting World Cup of all times and also Ary Graca, president of the FIVB, expects one of the biggest tournaments ever in Austria’s capital. So, the bar is set really high. But where could these expectations be fulfilled better, or even exceeded, than in Vienna, the most beautiful city in the world?

With the famous Donauinsel Austria’s capital offers the perfect location for an exciting tourney rich in variety. The hot spot is ideally situated and provides numerous possibilities for recreational activities before and after the volleyball matches. For the World Championship, even an own arena was built with 10.000 seats for the spectators. And for those who do not manage to grab a seat in the stadium, there is a public viewing area where all the games are broadcasted live and where you can share the thrill with your favourite team together with other enthusiastic fans.
