Late Summer in Vienna (4)

We have already reported great late summer activities in Vienna and also informed you about the international year of sustainable tourism. As this topic is really near and dear to us, we wanted to introduce a particularly beautiful hiking path this week, where you will get totally in harmony with nature - completely in line with sustainable tourism. And which point of time would be more ideal for a hiking trip than september, when the temperatures become a little bit fresher again, but the sun still bathes everything in a warm light? The Sisi circular path The Sisi circular path leads you on the trail of the empress for one and a half hours through the Vienna Woods. Therefore, you should optimally start at the centre of the market town Kaltenleutgeben and from there you proceed towards the Eiswiese where you will also find a great children’s playground. Subsequently, you will arrive at the baroque parish church of St. Jacob and thereupon to the Eisstockplatz where you should keep on the right. Because then, you will reach the imperial path from where you can enjoy a truly royal view over the little town. And afterwards, the route progresses over the [...]

Bee humming in Vienna’s green living room: The gardening season is about to start

Staying in the middle of the vibrant city and in the nature at the same time? It’s springtime! Flowers are growing und we cannot wait to open our hotel garden in April. We take a deep breath, lean back, relax and enjoy the nature in our green oasis. Before the hotel door vibrant urban life is pulsing, but in the lush garden crickets are chirping, bees are humming and birds are singing. Do you fancy having breakfast in the garden, enjoying a coffee and a cake in the afternoon sun or relaxing with a sundowner under shady trees? And in between we discover the “green” Vienna. Maybe when strolling around the parks and gardens of the town and the Prater, the most famous area for recreation of Vienna’s people? Or what about visiting the best courtyards of the town? Green living room Back at the hotel’s garden a delicious glass of wine is already waiting for the stroller. We care about our environment and it goes without saying that we place value on the fact that our culinary delicacies are fresh, local and organic. At our Zero-Energy-hotel we care for bees as well and are passionate beekeepers – we do […]

From Apfelstrudel to Zentralfriedhof

Finally, it’s there – the snow! And for all of those who still have Vienna on their bucket-list: Now the time has come to put your project into action. For that reason in the Boutiquehotel Stadthalle we have a New Year’s Resolution Package until the 29th of February 2016 for our guests up in our sleeves. To make sure that nobody needs to miss out on the treasures of wintery Vienna we also reveal our favorite spots for the cold season. Visitors with a sweet tooth should definitely visit the show bakery in Schönbrunn Palace. Here the traditional Viennese Apfelstrudel is still home-baked and just tastes incredibly good. If watching and tasting is not enough it’s also possible to attend a Strudel-workshop in the Palace`s “Hofbackstube”. According to the original recipe the participants are learning the fine art of the Viennese Apfelstrudel – including a frame worthy baking diploma. A special experience is to go skating at one of the many ice rinks – perfect is the one directly in front of the city hall – and afterwards warming up with the Viennese coffee specialty Wiener Melange. Our all-time favorite: The Café Museum (and especially its delicious cakes). With its […]

The Lobau – the green oasis in Vienna

With more than 1,8 million residents Vienna is the second biggest city in the German speaking countries. Despite its size, the city of Vienna is well known for its many green areas. The Lobau in the east of Vienna can be deemed the jungle of Vienna. Once you literally dive into that jungle, you will not notice that the city of Vienna is that close. This is the reason why we want to present the recreational area of the Lobau to our guests in our central hotel in Vienna.
