The time has come! Days are getting shorter, it is definitely much colder now and slowly the smell of Christmas cookies and mulled wine is filling the atmosphere.
Advent will be here soon and with it, all the many beautiful Christmas markets in Vienna! While the little ones can enjoy warm chestnuts, the older ones can warm up with a glass of Punsch or mulled wine.
Vienna’s Rathausplatz will change its face once again this year and become stage to the famous circus Roncalli. Celebrating its 35th birthday next year the circus will stay in Vienna from September 13th to the 20th of October and will host an extraordinary show to pay tribute to its anniversary. There will be exciting artistry and breathtaking acrobatics with artists from Brasil to Russia and from Spain to England.
Summer in Vienna is just as exciting as going on holidays. There are numerous events taking place that can make every summer day a very special one. Vienna’s open air cinemas are part of them. There are lots of locations that show films outdoors, choose whether you prefer to sit on the roof of the main library, in front of Rathaus or close to the Danube. Styria, the state in the southeast of Austria, bordering Slovenia, has a tradition of hosting the “Styrian spring” festival in Vienna. From Thursday the 7th of April through to Sunday the 10th of April, the state represents its 17 districts and regions on Rathausplatz. There is always an interesting programme with Styrian music, typical Styrian specialities in food and drink as well as information about the regions, their tourism and attractions.
On the first weekend of April the biggest Austrian bike festival – the ARGUS BIKE FESTIVAL will take place in Vienna. On Rathausplatz you will find a bicycle exhibition. The exhibitors have got something interesting to show and to try out for everyone: professionals, beginners, children AND e-bikers .

The grand opening of Vienna’s largest ice-rink will take place on the 20th of January 2011 at 7pm! 6000m² for ice-skating in the midst of the city, right in front of Vienna’s town hall will available for almost three weeks.
