International Day at Modul Tourism College
12. MrzOn Thursday the 29th of March, the annual International Day will take place at Modul Tourism College. This event is a charity event, organized by international hotel management students who usually try to present their nations’ culture, history, facts and of course food and beverage specialties.
Vienna’s ball season 2012
9. JanVienna is not only known for its coffee culture, Sachertorte and the Lippizzaner, but it is also popular for the many glamorous balls.
More than 300 take place each year from November to March when the city of waltz enjoys long nights in luxurious surroundings. The highlights of the ball season take place in January and February offering programmes for the young and the older generations.
Cocktail City Tour
21. NovOn the 24th of November 2011 a cocktail tour around the city will take place in Vienna. Starting at 7pm you can visit several bars in the 4th, 5th and 6th district and consume one free cocktail in each of them, all with only one ticket. The cocktails are high quality drinks; most bars also offer non-alcoholic cocktails.
The “Wiener Wiesn”
30. SepThe “Wiener Wiesn” is a sort of Octoberfest-Viennese style.
Lebkuchen hearts, steins of beer, Austrian traditional clothes Dirndl and Lederhosen, folk and pop music is what you will get, but also the little something Viennese that comes with it: exquisite Viennese cuisine and of course Viennese wines!!!
Open air cinemas Vienna
25. JulSummer in Vienna is just as exciting as going on holidays. There are numerous events taking place that can make every summer day a very special one. Vienna’s open air cinemas are part of them. There are lots of locations that show films outdoors, choose whether you prefer to sit on the roof of the main library, in front of Rathaus or close to the Danube. Film festival 2011
29. JunOne of the best places to be in Vienna during summer is the film festival at Rathausplatz. Starting on July 2nd it will attract thousands of people over the following weeks, providing an “outdoor cinema” free of charge(!) with classical dance-and music films as well as operas on a large video wall just in front of the beautiful scenery of Rathaus. Several films are shown every evening, starting as soon as it gets dark enough and only if it does not rain.
Summer Night Concert

On the 2nd of June 2011 the open air Summer Night Concert by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra will take place at the gardens of Schönbrunn Palace. The concert is at free admission and you can enjoy a fabulous event at a beautiful and unique ambience. This year it will be conducted by Valery Gergiev, the Artistic Director of the Mariinski Theater in St. Petersburg. The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra wants to show everybody the beauty of classical music with this concert.

Vienna Stadtfest
26. MaiThe city festival Vienna will take place for the 28th time this weekend. From May 27th to May 29th there will be all sorts of events, programmes and shows all over town. “Experience the city” is this year’s theme.
The Vienna Life Ball
19. MaiThis Saturday, May 21st, the Life Ball 2011 will take place in Vienna. “Spread the Wings of Tolerance” is this year’s theme, trying to illustrate the invisibility of the HI Virus, as well as of air. Air is one of the 4 elements that have been part of each year’s theme at the life ball.
Pop-festival Vienna
2. MaiFrom the 5th of May to the 8th of May 2011 the Pop-festival Vienna will take place in front of the Church of St. Charles (Karlskirche). 41 young and individual musicians will show their music projects. For this year’s opening they have invited a special guest: Skero. He is famous in Austria for his song “Kabinenparty”. This year he will perform with a big band of 15 people and he’ll present a new musician from the Austrian pop-scene, Lylit.
