Grease
5. MrzGrease – the musical that has been popular for 40 years is back. It will be staged in Vienna’s Stadthalle from the 6th until the 25th of March 2012. The first “high school musical” of the 50ies is all about Cadillacs, Petticoats, parties, rebellion and of course love!
The musical was successful when it was first performed and relived another hype in the 90s in London’s West End. Now its German version has been revised by the successful director David Gilmore and is travelling through German speaking countries. Even though it will be shown in German, the musical’s songs and music remains international and will definitely bring back the emotions one can live through when listening to songs like “You are the one that I want” or “Summer nights”.
Tickets are available from 37.50€ and can be purchased here. If you are looking for rooms: Boutiquehotel Stadthalle is just around the corner from Stadthalle.
And this is to get into the mood:
Fabelhafte Hotels (fabulous hotels)
29. FebYesterday the press conference of fabulous hotels “Fabelhafte Hotels” took place in Vienna. A press conference that was anything but ordinary. The actress Gigga Neunteufel presented 8 very fabulous Austrian hotels in a very fabulous way.
An energy-independent hotel in the middle of the metropolis Vienna (Boutiquehotel Stadthalle), hotel rooms high above the trees (Baumhotel), a farm that offers dinner in the extravagant stable (Kleinsasserhof), living in an arts gallery in Carinthia (art-Lodge), a castle of knights (Schloss Altenhof), a hotel designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser (Rogner Bad Blumau), living like an earl in apartments in a castle (Schlosshotel Mailberg) or enjoy a large playroom that became a hotel (Spiele-Buchhotel Tschitscher). Isn’t this fabulous?
These unique hotels founded the group “Fabelhafte Hotels” in order to show Austria’s creativity and diversity in the hotel industry. The group’s hotels do not have anything in common except that they are all individual and exceptional. Each of the hotels offers special experiences and inspiring moments. Holidays in one of the Fabelhafte Hotels means holidays to tell stories about.
Enjoy a few photos of the hotels. The photos of the press conference will be posted soon!

21. FebToday is Shrove Tuesday – the last day of carnival! It is part of the Austrian tradition that people dress up in funny costumes and celebrate. Cabarets are popular on this day as well as gatherings (mostly in villages) and processions where different carnival groups present their costumes. School children celebrate carnival parties at school and in general you might happen to see people dressed up like clowns, animals, pirates and the like on the street.
Vienna’s night life is also special on Shrove Tuesday!
Clubs such as Chelsea, Empire Club, Fledermaus Club, Floridita and Passage have special carnival events tonight. For those who still need a costume: you can rent one here:
Our team at Boutiquehotel Stadthalle donated money to the RED NOSES Clowndoctors on this special day. As a small present we offer red noses to all our guests today to make the last day of carnival a special one! Here is a picture of our receptionists:

HOTEL-TEAM IN STEGERSBACH
4. Feb… while students where running our hotel, 26 staff members of Boutiquehotel Stadthalle were enjoying a relaxing wellness weekend at Falkensteiner Balance Resort in Stegersbach.
Ms Reitterer, the hotel owner, invited her team to an extended and delayed Christmas party. First, the team went to Güssing, a town in Burgenland, which became famous for its policy on renewable energy. Using local resources to cover the demand on energy in the area was the simple and clear plan of Güssing two decades ago. Today it has become a European showcase. Since 2001 Güssing has been producing energy through a biomass power station very successfully. The European Centre for Renewable Energy, located in Güssing, continues research & development in this field and hopes to be able to pass its success story on to other regions and areas in Europe and around the world!
