… as already mentioned a few days before, the Velocity Conference 2013 takes place this year on 11-14th June in Vienna.

For this reason Vienna has declared that 2013 will be the cycling year. Bicycle garage

Rainbow parade 2013

The rainbow parade is one of the most important annual events in the gay, lesbian and transgender community. Around 100,000 people get together to join Austria’s largest annual demonstration to take a stand against discrimination.

This year’s parade will be held on June 15th as part of the Vienna Pride Week. It will start at 2pm at Heldenplatz.. The colourful crowd will walk along Ringstraße and return to Heldenplatz at around 6pm.
The night will certainly turn out to be one of the craziest and funkiest party nights of the year.

Vienna Festival Weeks 2013

The “Vienna Festival Weeks” is a cultural festival in Vienna, which takes place during five weeks between May and June each year. The opening of the Vienna Festival Weeks traditionally takes place at Rathausplatz: about 41 productions from 36 countries will be shown during the five weeks.

The Vienna Festival Weeks are an innovative and international urban festival and offer international theater and a wide variety of contemporary art forms and languages.

The Museumsquartier, the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Kunsthalle and f.e.Wien Museum Karlsplatz, are the venues for the festival.

Velocity conference Vienna

The velocity conference 2013 will take place in Vienna from June 11th to June 14th.

This year’s theme will be “The sound of cycling urban cycling cultures”. The objectives are (amongst others)

• spreading high quality knowledge about cycling and transport planning
• encouraging the recognition that cycling is a benefit to the entire city
• integrating cycling planning into transport planning

The conference will take place in Rathaus - the Vienna city hall.

For those of you who would like to enjoy Vienna (on bike) before or after the conference, there are activities such as a bicycle picnic or a cycling tour through Wachau.
The conference programme is varied and interesting.
