The grand opening of Vienna’s largest ice-rink will take place on the 20th of January 2011 at 7pm! 6000m² for ice-skating in the midst of the city, right in front of Vienna’s town hall will available for almost three weeks.
Ice-skating for everyone!! Daily from 9am to 10pm.
Beginners, can try to skate on a smaller (480m²) ice-rink, made of a synthetic material, which prevents beginners from getting wet, when they fall.
This area is available Monday-Friday from 9am to 4pm.
Advanced ice-skaters can enjoy the large space to cruise around, have a chat or relax while listening to the music of Vienna’s radio station “Radio Wien”.
For those who prefer Bavarian curling the synthetic ice-rink is available daily from 5pm to 10pm.
But fun has its price:
Tickets for the ice-rink cost 6€ (adult), 5.4€ (children)
Ice-skates rental costs 6.5€ (adult), 4€ (children)
Cloak room 2-3€
You can reach the ice-rink at Rathausplatz by underground U2 (stop: Rathaus) or by trams D, 1, 2
