Donauinselfest 2013

A festival with a lot of specials…

Every year the “Donauinselfest” brings many national and international bands and stars to Vienna, to banish the summer boredom. The biggest open-air festival takes place from the 21^st – 23^rd of June 2013 for already 30 times – a jubilee that will be celebrated big.

From Hip Hop to Rock right up to Schlager music and Country, something for every kind of taste, for free entry.

Wolfgang Ambros, Reinhard Fendrich, Amy Macdonald, Christina Stürmer, Rea Garvey, DJ Antoine, Aura Dione or Philipp Poisel are just a few examples for the many acts, that will come to the Donauinselfest.

Biorama Fair Fair 2013

“BIORAMA FAIR FAIR – Market for Sustainable Fashion, Design & Food” will held at the Museumsquartier from the 12^th to the 14^th of July.
The FAIR FAIR shows how great sustainability can be and how chic eco-fashion is!

A large food market will be found by MQ with a variety of specialty food kiosks.

There you can taste different products such as vegan sweets from the Simply Raw Bakery, fresh roasted organic coffee from the  Alt Wien Coffee Roasters, organic beers from the Salzburger Brauhaus Gusswerk and Ottakringer and organic products from the organic farm Adamah.

At the entrance there is also the initiative “conscious shopping” with an information portal about labels and certificates.

You will spend few days enjoying food and drinks and all is organic!!

Forest Week 2013

The Team of Boutique Hotel Stadthalle would like to remind you that the week of the forest 2013 will be held from the 10th to the 16th of June!

“Our forest, the recipe for sustainability” is the motto of this week:  the sustainability is also the primary issue!

In and around the forest there is much to be discovered and learnt; not only by children but also by adults and even by “old hands” in forestry. Forest education is used to teach children and adolescents about the forest. The aim of this traditional week is to arouse interest for the forest and awareness in the population.
The Environment Ministry informs how to live more sustainable:
on the homepage, you can calculate the individual ecological footprint and learn actions for its reduction!

It can get greener!

Today we started the work on our vertical garden at our hotel street facade!

Those who know our Boutiquehotel, already know the green wall in our entrance area.
This has been created in the course of a research project with Grünwand and the Universität für Bodenkultur Vienna, it observes how plants grow indoors with LED light.

Now we are going to the next step.

We get a vertical garden at our street facade. This project examines how the green vegetation influences the room climate in the room behind.

Therefore, the vertical garden is only planted on parts of our hotel. We will keep you updated on the progress of our project.

The Veganista

Whether it rains or the sun shines: an ice cream is always tasty and good for the soul too!!

On the 28^th of May Veganista will open in Neustiftgasse 23 in Vienna.

It is the first ice cream parlor in Vienna with vegan varieties: animal products are not used for the preparation of the different ice cream flavors.
The fruit comes from the region; the ice cream is made on a basis of soy milk, oat milk and coconut milk. Maple and agave syrup are used to sweeten the ice creams.
Would you like some ice cream? From tomorrow you can finally taste Veganista’s ice cream!
